How an Arkansas county is divided over books they labeled as woke and too explicit

Last night, a meeting at the Quorum County Court was held on matters to defund the Saline County Libraries due to the reading materials available to children.

The books that were brought to the court’s attention were claimed to be woke and sexually explicit. One of the individuals arguing for defunding the libraries brought the books into question to the meeting.

Quorum County Court Meeting

A Quorum County Court is a body of elected officials from each district in the county who simply votes on matters concerning the city and/or county.

The quorum court heard many pleas last night on removing the books in question, moving the books to an area away from their children’s reach, as well as ending public tax money going toward supporting the county libraries.
